So, Zac and I have quietly rolled out NewCAST 2.0 in the last few days. It was a lot of work to shoot in High Definition. Actually it was a lot of work to edit and upload in HD. It was also a challenge getting good audio in a Bar (Cabaret). Even though we had the VIP room to ourselves, the party rocking next door wasn’t going to hold back for anything! It took 4 microphones and some serious post production work, but you can hear what is said, and enjoy the music at the end. This ‘first episode’ unveils our new intro. The sequence with the vent took 16 hours to render on my quad core machine. Zac and I are committed to making this first episode a MINIMUM standard of excellence. We want to keep producing content you want to see.
NewCAST 2.0
NewCAST is Transforming
NewCAST is transforming, but sadly not in the Michael Bay way. If that where the case, our microphones would transform into tiny killing machines with RPGs and assault rifles built in, and proceed to terrorize Webcast One Live, and everything would explode. The fish would drive the story forward, but have zero depth or character development, and at some point, the US Military would swoop in with a Red White and Blue painted helicopter to save the day.
But seriously, just in case you missed our last two shows, the newCAST you knew is gone. We’re hoping to replace it with something fresh and new, launching on a new platform. From the looks of it, we’ll be back soon on YouTube, so go subscribe to our channel! You can also jump on our mailing list, as we’ll push out some news on that too.
The form of distribution is changing, but the mission is still the same. We want to bring you relevant information without mainstream media spin. Actually we replace that spin with comedy most of the time, so you won’t feel like something is missing. We also like to dedicated a chunk of our show to musicians. How we will handle Music Thursdays in the future is still to be decided, but we do still plan to keep local music involved in our show.
With that said, one thing that won’t be changing is our Sunday Filming Thing. So far we’ve only had one Sunday event, and although the project got canned right off the bat, we still had something to show for it. We also have all kinds of fun planned for the summer, starting with our event at Cabaret West Glen on the 20th! After that, we’ll be organizing a whole concert series over the summer, so do yourself a favor and book mark, follow, like, and subscribe to us. You won’t regret it.
To all those people who have followed us from the beginning, our biggest fans and closest friends, we thank you, and promise that this isn’t the last the world has seen of NewCAST, Muahahhahahaha!
News!
Still lots of big things coming up despite how quiet our fan base is. At this point, I can say with confidence that everyone on the mailing list will have access to the VIP room for this up coming event I’m about to talk about. May 20th, at Cabaret West Glen, NewCAST will be co-sponsoring a concert featuring music by The Sweatpants Rockets, and Renegades of Sound. NewCAST will have control of the VIP room (muhaahahah!), and thus we are giving out access to anyone remotely related to our show. If you’re reading this (and also live in Iowa), that probably includes you, so sign up to the mailing list on the left, and get in on this! Also, if you plan to attend, please let us know at the event’s facebook page here.
